ChessDays.ca respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We collect minimal data and do not sell personal information.

Email address — If you subscribe to tournament notifications, we collect your email address solely to send you relevant updates. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link included in every email.

Event submission data — When you submit an event, we collect the organiser name, email address, and event details. The organiser email is used only for communication about the listing and is not published publicly.

Local storage — Bookmarked events and theme preferences are stored locally in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers.

We use collected information only to:

• Send tournament update notifications (email subscribers only)
• Review and publish submitted events
• Contact event organisers regarding their listings

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or analytics beyond basic anonymous page-view statistics.

Subscriber email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Organiser contact information is retained for the duration the event listing is active, then deleted within 90 days of the event date.

ChessDays.ca may use third-party services (such as an email delivery provider) to send notifications. These providers process your data only on our behalf and in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

ChessDays.ca does not use tracking cookies. Your theme preference and saved events are stored in your browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time through your browser settings.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
